The local Lib Dem team regularly monitor street-level issues across the ward. Cllr Stephen Fenton spent the weekend out and about in the Tadcaster Road area, and has reported a number of issues that require action, summarised below.
Saturday’s Garage Trail helped raise funds for York Against Cancer
Stephen also supported the ‘Gruesome Garage Trail’ on Saturday organised by the new community group that is being established to champion the needs and interests of residents of the Middlethorpe estate off Tadcaster Road. It was the group’s first event, and was a success in bringing the community together.

A new graffiti tag has been spotted on St Helens Road railway bridge and a cable box on Tadcaster Road opposite Nelsons Lane
A ‘lagoon’ has formed by the bus stop outside the vets on Tadcaster Road, caused by leaves blocking the drainage channel
The street sign at the top of Slingsby Grove has fallen over – corrosion may have been the cause
The snicket between Dringthorpe Road and Middlethorpe Grove is being blocked by a resident’s conifer hedge
Loose kerb stone on Middlethorpe Grove in need of repair
