Fail to stop accident in Woodthorpe

 Police in York are appealing for witnesses and information after a 17-year-old girl suffered serious injuries when she was hit by a car.

Moorcroft RoadIt happened near the shops on Moorcroft Road at around 4pm on Tuesday 4 October 2016 when a red car collided with the girl, before leaving the scene without stopping.

The victim suffered a sprained ankle and fracture pelvis as a result of the collision.

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the car prior to hitting the girl, or who witnessed the actual collision to contact them.

They are also appealing to the driver to come forward and to anyone else who may have information that could help identify the driver, to contact the police.

A64 eastbound carriageway closed following road traffic collision

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision on the A64 near Tadcaster.

Collision

The eastbound carriageway is currently closed after a Renault Clio overturned at around 3.25pm today (11 August 2014).

Three people were in the vehicle at the time of the collision. The extent of their injuries are not known at this time.

The westbound carriageway will also be closed to allow the air ambulance to land at the scene.

The eastbound carriageway is expected to remain closed for a number of hours.

Any witnesses to the collision are urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 1 – and pass information to the Force Control Room.

Police appeal for James Street accident witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses after a moped rider was injured in a road traffic collision in York.

Collision

The rider, an 18-year-old local man, suffered broken ribs and leg injuries, when his yellow Aprilla moped collided with two vans on James Street at around 12.45pm on Wednesday 28 May 2014.

The drivers of the vans initially stopped at the scene of the collision but left without providing any details.

A number of other people stopped to help the injured man and officers are appealing for them to come forward and help the investigation.

Witness appeal after serious Acomb accident

Police are appealing for a vital witness to come forward after a road traffic collision in York, which left a pedestrian with serious injuries.

It occurred at around 12.15am on Saturday 8 February 2014, at the junction of Boroughbridge Road and Carr Lane.

The collision involved a silver Skoda Octavia taxi, travelling along Boroughbridge Road towards the city, and a 31-year-old York man, crossing the road from Carr Lane towards Ouse Acres.

Chaloners Road serious accident

Boy seriously injured in York collision – appeal for witnesses and information

North Yorkshire Police is investigating a serious road traffic collision involving a 12-year-old boy and a car.

It happened on Chaloners Road, near the bus stop opposite Sandcroft Road, at about 1pm on Saturday (16 November 2013).

The boy, from York, had just got off a bus and was crossing the road when the collision occurred with a blue Mini Cooper driven by a 24-year-old local woman.

He was taken by ambulance to York District Hospital with serious head injuries.

Local diversions are in place while the police investigate the collision scene. The stretch of road is expected to remain closed into Saturday evening.

Witnesses to the incident, or anyone who recalls seeing either the boy or the blue Mini Cooper prior to the collision, are urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Roger Walker.
