13 year old boy assaulted on little Hob Moor in Dringhouses

A 13-year-old local boy has been assaulted on the cycle track between Hob Moor and Tadcaster Road in York.
At 3.30pm on Wednesday 25 November 2015, a young man aged approximately 19 to 20-years-old forcefully grabbed the young victim and pulled him off his bicycle and shook him violently. 

Fortunately the victim did not require hospital treatment but has been left distressed by the incident.

Officers are appealing for information about the assault and are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

In particular, they are appealing for information about a white man aged 19 to 20-years-old, about 6ft tall of medium build with short curly ginger hair.  The man was wearing a black hoody and blue or black trousers and was seen to by riding a blue BMX bicycle.

River search for missing man continues in York. Police seek witnesses to assault in Clifford Street.

Extensive police enquiries are ongoing and river searches have resumed in the effort to find Rory Johnson in York.

The 29-year-old from Skipton was last seen by the friend he travelled to York with at 12.15am on Friday 20 November 2015, when Rory left the York Central Travel Lodge on Piccadilly where they were staying the night.

It has been established that Rory went to a nearby pub with a fellow hotel guest having earlier met him and his father in The Postern Gate Wetherspoon pub at around 11.30pm on Thursday.

Witness appeal following assault in York

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious assault in Clifford Street, York.

The incident happened outside Subway between 2.30am and 2.45am on Sunday 8 November.

A 21 year old man from Selby was assaulted and he sustained serious facial injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on a man during a five-a-side football match in York.

Then incident happened at the York Sports Village in Heslington, on Tuesday 29 September 2015.

Two local teams kicked off their game at 9.20pm. Towards the end of the game, a 28 year old man from York was punched in the face and knocked unconscious by a member of the opposing team.

The offender is described as a white man, aged early to mid-twenties with short shaven hair and of stocky/big build. He was wearing a red Liverpool football kit.

Witnesses sought to Bank Holiday daytime assault in York

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an assault that occurred on Bank Holiday Monday, 31 August 2015, near the Castle car park in York city centre.

The assault took place in the alley next to Fenwicks between the Coppergate Centre and the Castle Carpark at 2pm on Bank Holiday Monday. A 15-year-old boy was punched in the face by a stranger, causing a cut to his face and damage to his glasses. The assault was witnessed by his younger brother.

Police are seeking witnesses who may have been in the Coppergate Centre, the alley next to Fenwicks, or the Castle car park around the time of the offence.

In particular, we are appealing for information about three males who followed the victim and his brother from the Coppergate Centre and into the alleyway where the victim was assaulted.

Male one is white, 17-18 years in age, about 6ft tall, slim, and has short dark hair. He was wearing a brown/green thigh length coat with a hood, a light coloured jumper underneath his coat, black tracksuit bottoms with white stripes down the side, and black trainers with white laces.

Male two is white, 15-16 years in age, about 5ft 6inches in height, and has short mousy blond hair. He was wearing A light brown coloured tracksuit and black trainers and he carried a black rucksack.

Male three is tanned, 12-13 years in age, about 5ft and with short blond hair. He was wearing a light grey hooded jumper and dark trousers.

Police investigate Acomb assault

York police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted near Askham Lane.

It occurred at around 7pm on Tuesday 13 May 2014, on The Green where it meets Askham Lane, Acomb, involving a car driver and a pedestrian.

As a result of the incident the pedestrian, a 62-year-old York man, suffered a cut to his head as well as cuts and bruising to one of his hands.

A 42-year-old man from York who was arrested in connection with the incident has been released on bail to allow for further police enquiries.

PC Chris Storey, of York Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you witnessed the incident taking place, I urge you to contact the police straight away as you may have information which could progress my investigation.”

Police seek assault witnesses in York

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage girl was assaulted in York.

The victim, aged 14, was walking along Monkton Road with a friend at around 9.15pm on Monday 7 April 2014, when she was approached by a man who head butted her on the side of her face.

The man then walked off in the direction of Malton Road. He is described as white, aged in his mid-20s, with stubbly facial hair. He was wearing a light-coloured tracksuit top with the hood up and light-coloured jogging bottoms.

Man’s cheekbone broken in York pub assault

Police are investigating an assault outside a pub in York which left a man suffering from a broken cheekbone.

The victim, aged 29, was having a drink outside the Marcia Grey in Acomb at around 6pm on Thursday 17 October 2013, when he was approached by a man who punched him twice in the face.

He was admitted to York Hospital where he underwent treatment for his injuries.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the assault or knows who is responsible to contact them with information.
