Local councillors have stepped in to clear a weed-strewn snicket after Labour-run City of York Council failed to respond to requests to remove vegetation which had made it almost impassable.

It took just over an hour to do the job that the council has ignored for weeks, so that the snicket between Carrfield and Teal Drive is in a decent state.
