New benches installed

Three new benches have been installed around Dringhouses & Woodthorpe ward, in response to requests from residents for more places to stop for a rest whilst out for a walk.

Two benches have been installed beside the path that links the Revival estate with the Green Lane cycle / footpath. The route has become increasingly popular with walkers since the first lockdown.

And one bench has been installed on Little Hob Moor, further down the hill from the location of an existing bench.

Meanwhile the Woodthorpe Community Group is progressing plans to install benches at locations including outside the shops on Moorcroft Road and outside the playground on Woodthorpe Green.

Thank you so much for the putting in of the new benches so useful when you can’t walk very far without a rest it means people can go just a little bit further now!x

I am very disappointed in the fact that Alness Drive doesn’t seem to be in the future maintenance as there are many potholes please find time to inspect the road as it is in a very bad state!

It has just cost me over £500 to have parts put on my car and it is only four years old! Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Regards.x

Hi Pat. I cycle along Alness Drive most days and have reported a number of potholes in the past week (plus on Acomb Wood Drive and Moor Lane). The council’s Highways team have been very stretched recently with putting measures in place to deal with the flooding, but I hope that the potholes reported will soon be marked up and repaired.
