City of York Council will be carrying out essential carriageway resurfacing works on Greengales Lane, Wheldrake and Corban Lane, Skelton throughout the week of 29 April.

The works will both start on Monday 29 April and will last approximately a week, with work taking place between the hours of 8am-5pm Monday-Friday.

In order to carry out these works safely a temporary road closure of both Greengales Lane and Wheldrake Lane, Wheldrake, and Corban Lane, Skelton will be necessary whilst works are taking place. A signed diversion route for local and through traffic will be in operation during these times.

Those requiring vehicular access must first inform the traffic management operatives on site and follow any instructions issued. Vehicular access will only be allowed if it is safe to do so. Pedestrian access will be available at all times.

Outside the proposed working hours the road will remain open as usual with no restictions imposed, but there will be minor works carried out each evening under local traffic management to progress the works as quickly as possible.

As with any construction work, there is likely to be a certain amount of disruption and inconvenience, however everything reasonably possible will be done to keep this to a minimum. Motorists should expect some delays and plan their journey accordingly.

The contractor carrying out the work will be Bardon, who will be responsible for public safety.
