The works are programmed to take two-weeks to complete, working between the hours of 9am and 5pm, which has been planned to coincide with the school Easter holidays to avoid disruption to the school within the works area.

To carry out the works safely, a temporary full road closure will be in place between the above hours, with some accommodation works taking place outside of these times.

Residents in the works area will have pedestrian access to their properties but vehicular access may not be possible during the hours of working. Vehicular access will only be allowed if it is safe to do so and drivers are asked to observe signs for information.

Emergency services will be permitted through the works in an emergency situation and pedestrian access will be available at all times. Cyclists may have to dismount and use the footways when travelling through the works areas. Network Rail will be monitoring the works on site due to the site proximity to the level crossing.

As with any construction work, there is likely to be a certain amount of disruption and inconvenience, but everything reasonably possible will be done to keep this to a minimum. However, motorists should expect some delays and are advised to plan their journey accordingly.

A signed diversion route will be in place for the duration of the works. Three way traffic lights will be used to manage traffic during the roundabout reconstruction phase of the works.

The contractor carrying out the work will be Aggregate Industries/ Bardons who will be responsible for safety and providing pedestrian access at all times.
