Triple boost for Tadcaster Road residents

There is good news on three fronts for residents in the Tadcaster Road area.

Firstly, a notice has gone up in the Mace / Post Office window indicating that the store will be re-opening soon, with the Post Office service restored within the next 4 to 6 weeks. This will come as a welcome boost to residents who have lost not only their Post Office but also newspaper deliveries.

Secondly, the speedy re-fit and rebrand of the Co-op / Texaco garage to its new incarnation as an ‘Applegreen’ outlet has been completed. Former Co-op staff have been retained, and the range of goods stocked is impressive.

Thirdly, two bicycle hoops have been installed by City of York Council outside Café at No. 12. The work was funded by the council, and we are grateful to the team at the Café for giving permission for the cycle hoops to be installed on their land.

Local Lib Dem councillors have been campaigning for better cycle parking provision along Tadcaster Road, and this latest success follows the installation of a cycle hoop at the shops near the junction with Slingsby Grove.
