Essential resurfacing – Woodlea Avenue, Acomb

City of York Council will carry out essential resurfacing works on Woodlea Avenue, Acomb.

Work will take place from Monday 24 November, weather permitting.

The work is programmed to last two weeks and will take place between 8am-5pm.

In order to carry out these works safely, a temporary road closure of Woodlea Avenue will be in place. Work will not be carried out on weekends.

Residents are advised there will be no access for vehicles when work is being carried out except in emergencies. There will also be no on-street parking during these times. If residents require vehicular access they are asked to first inform the traffic management operatives on site to ensure safety. The road will be open as normal outside the working hours. Pedestrian access will be available at all times.

As with any construction work, there is likely to be a certain amount of disruption. Residents are assured that everything reasonably possible will be done to keep this to a minimum, however, motorists should expect some delays and plan their journey accordingly.

The contractor carrying out the work will be responsible for safety.
