There is a drop-in session at 6.30pm and the main meeting starts at 7pm.

All local residents are invited to a community carols event at the Marriott Hotel, Tadcaster Road on Tuesday 15 December at 6.30pm.
The singing will be led by Dringhouses Primary School choir and the St Edward the Confessor choir.
Mulled wine and mince pies will be provided. There will be a collection towards the Community Hall project and Dringhouses School choir.
The Woodthorpe Community Group’s ‘Carols by Candlelight’ event held on Saturday evening at Love to Eat on Moor Lane was a great success, despite the wet weather.
St James the Deacon choir provided the musical backdrop for the event, which was the first organised by the new community group. Love to Eat kindly provided mulled wine and mince pies and a place to shelter from the rain and the cold!
Local councillors Stephen Fenton and Ashley Mason were there to show their support and lend a hand.
Stephen commented “I was pleased to have been able to support the Woodthorpe Community Group with this event, and look forward to continuing to work with them over the coming months.”
National chocolate week is being celebrated with a variety of activities at Goddards on Tadcaster Road, between 14th and 18th October from 11am to 5pm each day.
Goddards is the family home of Noel Goddard Terry, owner of the famous chocolate-making firm Terry’s of York. The house was designed by architect Walter Brierley in the Arts and Crafts style and is complemented by four acres of gardens. It is managed by the National Trust.

The Dringhouses Community Bake Off held on Sunday 20th September brought together local residents for an afternoon of fun, games, chat and of course cake! The event was part of the re-launch of the Dringhouses West Residents Association.
Dringhouses & Woodthorpe Lib Dem councillors Stephen Fenton and Ann Reid were joined by neighbouring Westfield ward councillor Sheena Jackson.
An open meeting for all local residents with take place on Tuesday 29th September at 7pm at West Thorpe Methodist Church, when everyone can have their say on how the revamped Residents Association should operate. The following Tuesday, 6th October, there will be a formal meeting to launch the Residents Association and elect a committee. That meeting is also at 7pm at West Thorpe Methodist Church.

All local residents are invited to come to Moor Lane Youth Centre on Wains Road from 2pm for some fun activities and homebaking!
Shine is an exciting programme of events aimed at five to 18 year olds which runs thanks to a large number of organisers including the council, sports organisations, independent activity providers and local attractions. Many of the activities are free and booking in advance is not always necessary, offering a boredom-free summer throughout the city!
This year Shine includes over 190 different activities throughout the summer, offering all the favourite arts, sports, play sessions, parks and libraries activities.

Hope for a still, dry and sunny day to see the butterflies which live on the Moor. Meet at the Hob Moor Drive entrance to the Moor. The walk is free and open to the public.
Six-spot burnet
The Middlethorpe estate off Tadcaster Road will welcome a new store this weekend when ‘Creative’ opens its doors at 12 noon on Sunday 19th July. Creative has taken over the premises formerly occupied by the newsagents.
The new café/ deli will host a fun afternoon in aid of St Leonard’s Hospice.
It’s great to see a new shop open on the parade. To further improve the area, the local Lib Dem councillors are trying to get the bicycle hoops re-painted or replaced, the litter bin replaced and the rusty postbox repainted.
Local residents are invited to join in the ‘Community Bake-Off’ to be held on the afternoon of Sunday 20th September at the Moor Lane Youth Centre on Wains Road.
The event is being organised to help bring the community together and promote the re-launch of the Dringhouses West Residents Association. Participation in the Bake-Off is optional, but of course there’ll be an opportunity for everyone to sample the produce!
Ward councillor Stephen Fenton is encouraging residents to come along for what should be an enjoyable afternoon: “Whether you are entering the bake-off or not, this is a great way to spend an afternoon getting to know more about the local community or sharing your knowledge with people who are new to the area.”
