Free half-term holiday fun for young people
York City Knights Foundation will be running some free outdoor activity sessions for local young people in west York over the half-term holiday. The dates and times are listed below.
Pre-booking is essential, via the Knights website at https://yorkcityknights.com/future-knights
Processes are in place to make the sessions Covid-compliant with spaces limited to meet current Government and RFL guidance, and as such booking is essential with limited availability. Once booked on, parents/ carers of participants are asked to download the Clubforce App which will help the Knights to follow Covid- 19 protocols.
Easter activity sessions cancelled
The Easter holiday activity sessions that were to be run by York City FC Foundation and York City Knights Foundation have been cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions.
It is hoped that session planned for the summer holidays will be able to go ahead.
CANCELLED – Easter holiday activities for young people
The Westfield and Dringhouses & Woodthorpe Ward Committees are funding Easter holiday activities for young people in the area.
The sessions will be run by York City Knights Foundation and York City FC Foundation – dates, times and locations are set out on the posters below.

CANCELLED – St Patrick’s Festival, 13 & 14 March
Unfortunately the York Irish Association’s St Patrick’s Festival has been cancelled.
What’s on – Ward Committee meeting, Tuesday 3 March
All residents are invited to come along to the Dringhouses & Woodthorpe Ward Committee meeting on Tuesday 3rd March at St Edward the Confessor Church on Tadcaster Road.
There is a drop-in from 6.30pm with the main meeting starting at 7pm.
Further details revealed on proposed retirement apartments
Developers Adlington have revealed more details of the retirement apartments they propose to build on Cherry Lane in Dringhouses.
A public exhibition was held at the Holiday Inn on 19 February at which a number of display boards were on show. Staff from Adlington met with many local residents who attended to talk through the proposals. Cllr Stephen Fenton also called in to learn more about the plans.
