A team of six residents and two local ward councillors braved the elements to do a litter pick in and around the old Askham Bar Park & Ride site on Sunday 21 January. Over 30 bags of litter were collected.

All residents in the Dringhouses & Woodthorpe ward are invited to a Ward Committee open meeting on Wednesday 24 January from 6.30pm at Woodthorpe Primary School.
The ‘Merry & Bright’ event held at Woodthorpe shops on 2 December was a huge success – thanks and well done to all of the local volunteers for making this happen.
Cllr Stephen Fenton joined Woodthorpe Community Group volunteers on Friday morning for a big clean-up around Woodthorpe shops on Moorcroft Road, ahead of the ‘Merry & Bright’ celebrations on Saturday 2 December from 4pm to 6pm.
The tree is now in place and is looking splendid!
The Womens Institute is hoping to launch a new group for the Dringhouses area. A meeting is being held on Tuesday 5th December at 7.30pm at St Edward the Confessor Church Hall on Tadcaster Road, which prospective members are invited to attend to find out more.
Christmas comes to Woodthorpe on Saturday 2nd December with the ‘Merry and Bright’ event at the Moorcroft Road shops. There’ll be entertainment and refreshments for all the family!
St James the Deacon church on Sherringham Drive is holding its Christmas Table Top sale on Saturday 11 November, from 9.30am to 12.30.

The new owner of the Love to Eat café on Moor Lane is hosting a drinks and nibbles event on Thursday 26 October from 7pm to 9pm. The evening will be an opportunity to celebrate with Fiona (the new owner) and say farewell to the previous owner, Louise.
The Woodthorpe Community Group is holding a fundraising coffee morning for Macmillan on Saturday 30 September at St James the Deacon from 10.15am to 12.15. All are welcome for some coffee or tea and cake!
