What’s on – Skate Park session, Friday 1 June, 10am
Children over 7 years of age are invited to take part in a free skate park session at Moor Lane Youth Centre on Wains Road on Friday 1 June from 10am to 11.30am.
The session is run by the York City Knights Foundation, and follows a successful series of events held over the Easter holidays. Further sessions will take place over the summer holidays.

Woodthorpe gears up for Royal Wedding festivities
Two local groups in Woodthorpe are inviting residents to get together to celebrate the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
On Thursday 17th May from 1.30 to 3.30pm Dementia Yorkshire is hosting a Royal Wedding themed afternoon at St James the Deacon Church Hall on Sherringham Drive, with light refreshments and organised activities on offer.
Then on the big day itself, Saturday 19th May, the Woodthorpe Community Group invites local residents to a Royal Wedding Street Party on Woodthorpe Green from 2pm to 4.30pm. As well as refreshment stalls there will also be family games on the Green. Bring your picnic blanket or folding chairs and make it a fun afternoon! In the event of wet weather, the event will move indoors to St James the Deacon church hall.
What’s on – Up with the larks on Hob Moor!
Residents are being invited to get ‘up with the larks’ on Saturday 28 April to listen to birdsong on Hob Moor.
Friends of Hob Moor have organised the ‘Bird Walk’ which will be led by Barry Bishop. It begins at 6am and starts from the yellow railings on Little Hob Moor at the entrance to the railway underpass.
